NSAC SILENCED ON UFC PPV FIGURES

Dana White has something to smile about.

Jeremy Wall of MMA Chronicle has reported the following.

"Marc Ratner of the Nevada State Athletic Commission confirmed with MMA Chronicle that the NSAC will not be able to give out any more of the pay per view revenue figures for MMA events held in the state of Nevada, which Ratner spoke directly to the Attorney-General about. The numbers are confidential. We had revealed the pay per view figures for UFCs 43, 44, 46 and 47 a few days ago, and I had sent in a fax to the NSAC for the pay per view revenue figures for UFCs 33, 34, 36, 37.5 and 40, but we won't be able to get ahold of official numbers for those shows through the NSAC."

Did somebody throw yet another temper tantrum?

COFFEE GUY REPORT - MARSH COULD REPLACE BUENTELLO AT UFC50

Zuffa dropped the ball once already with Marsh, will he fight in UFC50?

Our man on the inside, Coffee Guy, has just given us the following rumor for UFC 50.

Due to Big D's fascination with all that is Ken Shamrock, many Lions Den fighters have been given another shot in the UFC lately. Tra Telligman is signed as a competitor in the upcoming UFC but his proposed opponent, KOTC Champ Paul Buentello has just been injured and wont be competing. One name that keeps coming up as a possible replacement opponent is John Marsh.
We blew our chance of introducing Marsh to the fans after the now famous water bottle incident with Cabbage at UFC45, the match between Marsh and Cabbage would have ben great in the UFC, hopefully we dont drop the ball on this one and get Marsh's signature on a contract for UFC50

PHIL BARONI INJURED

More bad news for 'Flamboyant' Phil Baroni.

Misfortune continues to dog the flamboyant UFC journeyman Phil Baroni.
After having his 12 month suspension for striking a referee at UFC 45 miraculously reduced to 6 months things were looking up for Baroni. Unfortunately for Baroni he looked lacklustre in his comeback fight against Evan Tanner and lost on points. Since then he has undertaken a rigorous training regime in hope of putting on a better performance in his next fight.

Yesterday in training, Baroni suffered a torn MCL and possibly a torn menincus in his knee. Doctors have told him that he will be unable to compete in UFC50 and provided that the healing goes as expected, he could be fit again in time for UFC52.

ENSON INOUE IN UFC51

Enson Inoue submitting Randy Couture in Japan.

Enson Inoue has expressed interest in fighting at UFC51 in Japan.
His interest was shown to fans when they told him that they would love to see him fight in UFC51. At this time we are unable to confirm any official interest from ZUFFA in utilizing Inoue, but his huge popularity with the Japanese fans could be something for them to consider. The fact that Inoue has a win against the UFC's current Light Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture should give them plenty of hype to work with.

COFFE GUY REPORT- MIKEY BURNETT IN UFC50

Mikey Burnett seen beating on Pat Militech at UFC Brazil

Our friend Coffee Guy has told us the following,

ZUFFA are trying to get former Lions Den fighter Mikey Burnette to fight at UFC 50 next month. They are currently in negotiations and both parties have almost reached an agreement. From what I've overheard in the office, any announcement of a fight will be made in the next 4 or 5 or days. Most of us here think that this is the "big surprise" that Big D has been referring to.

VIITOR AND JOANA TO HAVE A SON

Vitor Belfort and his wife Joana Prado.

Upon returning to Brazil after his fight against Randy Couture at UFC 49, Vitor Belfort received great news for him and his wife, model and tv hostess Joana Prado. Now four months pregnant, Joana told Vitor the news that they are going to have a boy! Ecstatic from the news, Belfort said that the name of his son has already been chosen.

"We are going to name him David. I don't have any trip planned for the near future and I want to spend all the time with Joana and the baby. If I have to travel they are going with me", said Vitor Belfort.

We at Fightsport would like to extend our best wishes to Vitor and Joana.

GENKI SUDO - DUANE LUDWIG II

Genki Sudo dominating Duane Ludwig before the controversial intervention by John McCarthy

By Todd Atkins

It is being rumored here that UFC Japan (locally promoted by DSE) will focus on a possible rematch between Genki Sudo and Duane Ludwig for Japanese crowd appeal. This fight became a realistic option when K-1 promoters announced that they would allow their fighters to take part in other events with them being a middle man in negotiations. As I have already stated DSE will send Nakamura, Yokoi, and a third fighter to be named later. Yokohama Arena is the front running venue at the moment.

K1 NEWS FROM JAPAN

Kid Yamamoto to fight in K1 MMA

By Todd Atkins

It has been announced that Genki Sudo will be facing a former WBC intercontinental junior middle weight champion under K-1 rules.

Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto will be fighting a MMA match against a Mongolian opponent. I told you they would not stop doing MMA matches altogether, contrary to what some other inconsistent news sites had been reporting.

OLYMPIC WRESTLING MEDALIST CHARGED OVER KILLING

Sara McMann runs a chicken wing on Sara Eriksson of Sweden in the opening round of the 2003 Women's Wrestling World Championships.

Associated Press

BRUSH, Colo. - Olympic wrestling silver medalist Sara McMann faces criminal charges for a highway crash that killed Arizona State wrestler Steven Blackford.

The Colorado State Patrol says McMann has been charged with careless driving.

The Jeep the two were riding in rolled off the shoulder of Interstate Hwy. 76 Saturday in northeastern Colorado. Both were thrown from the vehicle. Blackford and McMann were not wearing seat belts.

McMann was hospitalized for moderate injuries but has been released.

Investigators are looking into whether speed led to the crash, about 90 miles northeast of Denver.

The two were traveling to Washington D.C., where Blackford was attending the Columbus Law School at Catholic University.

BROCK LESNAR TO FIGHT IN PRIDE?

Brock Lesnar, open to an offer from an MMA Event.

By Scoop McTroll

Former WWE Wrestling superstar Brock Lesnar, had been trying out with NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings but despite showing some potential he was released by them yesterday. Prior to his tryouts with the Vikings, Lesnar had stated an interest in fighting on the K-1 Romanex MMA Circuit if his tentative NFL career turned sour. As the future of Romanex currently has a cloud over it, this could mean that the only promotion in a position to use a star such as Lesnar would be Pride. Pride has successfully incorporated Pro-Wrestlers into their events since its inception and Lesnar could be Pride's key to the lucrative American market.

Lesnar is said to have been approached by the WWE with a review to returning to their promotion and he is currently in negotiations with CFL football team, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, however at this point in time he is not under contract to anybody. This could be the time for Pride to make a move on the popular former superstar of the WWE.
